Before we begin work:
Pressure Washing Due to the humid climate, most homes have a mildew problem. If not removed, mildew can grow through the paint or stain causing premature paint failure and discoloration. We pressure wash all areas to be painted to provide a clean base to paint over. In order to combat heavy mildew accumulation, TSP or a bleach/water solution may be used. Surface Preparation Surface preparation is the most important part of a long lasting paint job. One of the most important steps in keeping water from destroying your house is to have all surface cracks and nail holes properly filled with caulk and putty. Also part of our preparation is to remove loose or cracked glazing from windows and replacing with new glazing compound. We will scrape and sand all loose and flaking paint before we prime all bare and weathered areas. A clean, well prepared surface will give the finish coat of paint the longest life. Minor Wood Repair As an additional service, we can repair wood rot and replace siding, windows, doors, and decks. Painting All work will be completed without interruption with the exception of inclement weather, illness, etc. Earthly Matters reserves the right to determine acceptable weather conditions and which tools are needed for the job. All exterior paint will contain a mildew inhibitor. Before we begin painting:
